: The NFHS obtained ethical approval from the International Institute for Population Sciences (IIPS) ethics committees and the ICF International Review Board (IRB) for the survey []. Additional information on ethical protocols and guidelines followed by the survey can be found at . In line with the ethical guidelines followed by DHS, the NFHS obtained informed consent from each participant prior to starting the interview, and the interview was conducted after ensuring privacy. In case privacy cannot be ensured even after three attempts, surveyors were trained to skip the household and move to the next household.
