: This study received Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval from the University of California San Francisco Committee for Human Research (protocol #17–23849) and the Malawi National Health Science Research Committee (protocol #11–09-1906). Research has been conducted in accordance to the Declaration of Helsinki. All nurses and midwives who participated in the intervention provided informed consent. All amalgamated, de-identified patient data in this study are routinely collected every month and uploaded to the government database for which the researchers had permission to access for this study.
