: The tea cultivars ‘Tieguanyin’ and ‘Benshan’ used in this study were planted and grown in Xiping town, Anxi county, Fujian Province, China. No specific permits were required for plant collection. The study did not require ethical approval or consent as no endangered or protected plant species were involved.
