: All the procedures in this manuscript had been approved by the Committee for Animal Experiments in Institute of Hydrobiology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, China. The methods used in this study were carried out in accordance with the Laboratory Animal Management Principles of China. The rearing activities of bighead carp in Wuhan, Hubei were also approved by the owner of the pond. The owner of the pond is willing to participate this study in form of written agreement.
