: The study was conducted in accordance with the Basel Declaration, and the report follows ARRIVE guidelines. All experimental protocols were approved by the Ethics Committee of the Institute of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine of Shandong Academy of Agricultural Sciences (approval number: SAAS-2022-G24), and all tissue samples were collected according to the guidelines of the Ethics Committee. All embryo samples were obtained by cesarean section after 12 ewes were euthanized (exsanguination after electric shock syncope). Skin tissues were collected immediately after euthanasia and used for scientific research. On postnatal days D7 and D30, lambs were observed to lose consciousness, and their skin was collected in vivo from postnatal lambs, with a depth of approximately 2 cm2 × 3 mm. Afterward, the skin wounds were sprinkled with anti-inflammatory powder and carefully sutured. Until the wound had healed, we treated the lambs with particular care. We made every effort to minimize animal suffering and discomfort.
