: <i>Toona sinensis</i> and <i>Toona ciliata</i> was grown and collected at South China Agricultural University (Guangzhou, Guangdong Province) and identified by Professor Xiaoyang Chen and teacher Wei Zhou. The identified samples were preserved in South China Agricultural University Herbarium(CANT), where the voucher for <i>T.sinensi</i>s was 33208 and the voucher for <i>T.ciliata</i> was 33209. All samples were adopted for the total experiment. No specific permits are required for sample collection in this study. We comply with the IUCN Policy Statement on Research Involving Species at Risk of Extinction and the Convention on the Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora.Each member of the team declared that has read the relevant institutional, national, and international guidelines and legislation before the commencement of the experiment and had complied with each of the legislative requirements during the experiment.
