: The authors declare that ethics approval and consent to participate do not apply to our study since nasal swab sampling is part of the routine animal surveillance protocols, issued by the National Authority for Veterinary Surveillance (Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale del Mezzogiorno) under the control of the Italian Ministry of Health.
