: The leprosy is a notifiable infectious disease in China. The National Health Commission of China determined that the collection of data from human cases of leprosy was part of continuing public health surveillance of a notifiable infectious disease. We only used the remained total DNA extracted from the clinical samples of leprosy patients, which were specifically collected for etiologic surveillance of leprosy in China. The DNA was only used to validate the newly established detection method (real-time multiple cross displacement amplification) of Mycobacterium leprae. All data was supplied and analyzed in an anonymous format, without access to personal identifying information. Besides, this project was reviewed and approved by Ethics Committee of the Guizhou Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention (No. of certification: W2023-02).In addition, the ML DNA obtained from the foot pads of infected mice has been approved by the Animal Ethics Committee of the Institute of Dermatology, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (No. of certification: 2022-DW-025).
