Ethics approval and consent to participate
: The human sera used for these experiments were the same used for the experiment reported in Ghiani et al. (2016). They came from patients seen at the Allergy Department of the Clinica San Carlo who gave a written informed consent to the use of their left serum for experimental purposes in an anonymous form once the routine IgE measurements had been carried out. The internal ethics committee of the “Clinica San Carlo” hospital (Paderno Dugnano MI) ruled that no formal ethics approval was required in this particular case and expressed its consent to the use of such sera in anonymous form.
