: The FinMonik study (including register linkage) was granted an ethical approval by the Institutional Review Board (IRB) of The Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL, decision number: THL/271/6.02.01/2018 §783). The invitation letter to the participants emphasized volunteering, protection of personal data and confidentiality. The invitation letter stressed that participation or refusal in the study did not affect their rights to Finnish health services. Informed consent was obtained from all participants to both participation in the survey and to linkage of survey data to available register data. Respondents were assured they could stop and dropout anytime during the study. All methods were carried out in accordance to relevant guidelines and regulation.
