: Approval for this project has been granted from NPS MedicineWise Data Governance Committee (2016–007 and 2019–029). The Human Research Ethics Committee of the University of Adelaide exempted it of a full review as it used only secondary and de-identified data, with no possibility of re-identification, and no experiment would be performed.NPS MedicineWise, the data custodian of the program MedicineInsight, received approval by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) National Research and Evaluation Ethics Committee (NREEC) in December 2017 (NREEC 17–017) for the standard operation and use of the MedicineInsight programme. General practices included in the MedicineInsight program consented to provide data on an ongoing basis. Data are encrypted during transit, following government and industry best practice standards, and are collected, used and stored strictly in accordance with Australian privacy laws (including mandatory data breach notification laws).
