: The study is conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki in its current version of 2013 (WMA Declaration of Helsinki - Ethical Principles for Medical Research Involving Human Subjects, 2013/64) and the General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR). The study protocol presented here was submitted to the Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Medicine of the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg for professional advice and received a positive vote prior to the start of the study (reference number: 2021 − 170). For all data collection methods in which personal data is collected, participants are asked to provide informed written consent, which has been previously approved by the Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Medicine Oldenburg. All survey contents planned in the project (questionnaire survey of patients, online survey of physicians and medical assistants, interviews with physicians, medical assistants and patients) were reviewed and approved by the Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Medicine Oldenburg. In addition, the project was reviewed and approved by the data protection officer of the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg. Since the patient survey is anonymous, no consent forms are required here. Nevertheless, the participants will be informed about all relevant aspects of the data collection within the study information. In the context of the online survey as well as prior to the individual interviews, all participants will be comprehensively informed about the data collection process, the data protection and will be asked to give their written consent. All personal data will be pseudonymised. The identifying data and the research data will be stored independently. The responsibility for the primary data collection and storage lies entirely with the research team of the Division of Organisational Health Services Research of Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg. The secondary data collection and storage is the responsibility of The Central Institute for the Provision of Health Care by Statutory Health Insurance.
