: This study was reviewed and approved by the Institutional Review Board of Zhejiang Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention. HIV-infected individuals received free ART with voluntary and signed informed consent; all the tests, including VL detection tests were free and investigators were required to tell HIV-infected individuals their VL results. We did obtain signed informed consent from all those enrolled before VL testing was conducted. The data from the sentinel surveillance of MSM and that on newly diagnosed infections detected using BED detection were based on routine programmatic data and thus informed consent was not required for the use of this data.
