Ethics approval and consent to participate
: Influenza data used in this study was part of the Chinese National Influenza-like Illness Surveillance Network (CNISN)which was supported by the National Health Commission of the People’s Republic of China. Data was collected based on the guideline for national influenza surveillance [CitationRef removed] coordinated and supported by the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Surveillance data were aggregated monthly and were analysed anonymously. Therefore, ethical approval was not required.
