Ethics approval and consent to participate
: Ethical clearance was obtained from an Institutional Review Board of the University of Gondar. Permission to conduct the research was obtained from Wag-Himra Zone health office. To ensure confidentiality, their name and other personal identifiers were not registered in the format. It was explained to the participants that the selection to the study was random and they had the right to not respond for questions that they were not comfortable with. As majority of our study participants were unable to read and write by the time, it was impossible to get written consent and for this reason we were forced to proceed with verbal consent and this method of consenting has been approved by our ethics committee. Consent to participate was also collected from the parents/guardians or study participants under 16 years old involved in our study. Finally, the questionnaires were kept locked after data entry was completed.
