Ethics approval and consent to participate
: Study approval and administrative permissions required to access the raw data were granted by the Kenyatta National Hospital/University of Nairobi (KNH/UoN) Ethics and Research Committee, which serves as the Institutional Review Board (IRB) in our facility. All data analysed was anonymized and personal identifiers were not recorded. The requirement for informed consent for laboratory data was waived since the research was based on de-identified information. Nevertheless, patient consent was obtained before collecting their clinical information prospectively from their files. This was a non-invasive study with no risks of body harm.
