: Based on the Law of the Peoples Republic of China on the Prevention and Treatment of Infectious Diseases, the National Health and Family Planning Commission issued the proclamation that pH1N1 was categorized as a Class B infectious disease on April 30, 2009 and Patients with influenza-like illness must accept the investigation and sampling tests of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and hospitals. The study was approved by the institutional review board of the Hunan Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Signed informed consent was obtained from all study subjects prior to participation. All participant personal identifiers were anonymized for confidentiality. All experimental protocols were approved by Hunan Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention and the methods were carried out in accordance with the Influenza A H1N1 Surveillance Protocol, Second Edition.
