: The research was approved and assigned to the Department of Microbiology and Hygiene, Bangladesh Agricultural University by the Department of Livestock Services (DLS), Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, Bangladesh under a collaborative letter of agreement, FAOBGDLOA2016–056, with the Food Safety Program (FSP) of Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, Bangladesh. The Ethical Committee of the Bangladesh Agricultural University approved the study under reference no. AWEEC/BAU/2019(43). Written informed consent was obtained from all representatives (managers, workers, or owners) of selected poultry farms prior to their participation in the semi-structure interviews and/or supporting the collection of animal and environmental samples of this study. Standard procedures, including clarification of study purposes, and assurance on preserving confidentiality, were strictly followed during the socio-environmental surveillance.
