: The RKI is the German national public health institute. It receives and analyses notifications on new HIV infections and performs molecular surveillance according to the Protection Against Infections Act (IfSG). We report data from a national molecular surveillance program of new HIV diagnoses performed according to the German law (Protection Against Infections Act § 13). An ethics statement or consent for participation is not needed. All methods were carried out in accordance with relevant guidelines and regulations.
