: The study was conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki. It was part of the study “Epidemiology, resistance, virulence factors and clinic of <i>Staphylococcaceae</i> bacteremia in the General Hospital of the Medical University of Vienna” approved by the local ethics committee of the Medical University of Vienna (EC No.: 1316/2017). Since this was a retrospective analysis of routine blood cultures from the General Hospital of the Medical University of Vienna, and originally no samples were taken for scientific purposes, according to the Ethics Committee, no informed consent to participate was required.
