Ethics approval and consent to participate
: The Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital Human Research and Ethics Committee (RBWH, HREC -EC- 00172) is NHRMC certified committee to undertake single review of multi-centre human research projects in publicly funded health services. In 2017 a multi-site ethics approval was submitted to the RBWH HREC to collect retrospective and prospective data from 9 adult hospital centres (reference number HREC/17/QRBW/661), which was approved. Additional approval was granted for retrospective and prospective data acquisition (reference number HREC/18/QRCH/123) at pediatric centers via the Queensland Children’s Hospital Human Research Ethics Committee (QRCH HREC EC-00175), which was also approved. The registry has been approved by the Australian Clinical Trials Registry (registration number ACTRN12619001030167). Additionally, the registry has been approved to collect information from electronic records in accordance with the Public Health Act (grant numbers: RD008026, RD007479, RD007643).
