: First, DMSL, TASH, and St. Paul Hospital Millennium Medical College all approved the proposal ethically. The IRBS (Institutional Review Board) is the responsible body for granting ethical clearance for research in the concerned area. Then, a letter of request was obtained from Addis Ababa University’s department of medical laboratory science and sent to TASH and SPHMMC in order to obtain approval and carry out the study. Following explanations of the significance of the study, each study participant was provided informed consent. They had the option of not participating in the study, not answering any questions, or withdrawing at any time. They were also informed that the information they provided would be kept strictly confidential. Finally, all methods were performed in accordance with the relevant guidelines and regulations (e.g. Declaration of Helsinki).
