CRS-R data were obtained as part of the project “Communication in Minimally Conscious State Patients” (CoMiCon), which was approved by the Committee for Clinical Ethics of the Hannover Medical School (ID:7485). For this study, EFA scores (collected during routine care) were obtained from medical records retrospectively. Ethical approval for this study was waived due to the retrospective data analysis. Legal representatives of the patients gave their written informed consent to evaluate patient data for research. Data analysis was carried out anonymized, respecting data protection regulations.
