Ethics approval and consent to participate
: Distribution of misoprostol tablets and their consumption immediately after delivery for home based births, under this implementation was a part of the new national standard of care as recommended by the government of India in its national guidelines. The data used for this pilot implementation was collected by the front line workers of the government machinery. The program was implemented after a due approval from State Government of Himachal Pradesh and the state government was involved at all stages of program implementation. The data collection tools were also part of the government of India guidelines. Hence, no separate ethical approval was sought for implementing this pilot as well as for collecting relevant data from beneficiaries.
