Ethics approval and consent to participate
: Ethics approval for the study was obtained from the South Eastern and South Western Sydney Local Health District Human Research Ethics Committees (ref number: HREC 12/219). Written informed consent was obtained from all GPs before they took part in the study. Verbal informed consent was obtained from all women before they completed the pre-questionnaire and were sent a copy of the decision aid. Given that the pre and post questionnaires were administered over the telephone, the Ethics Committees gave approval for women to provide verbal informed consent. Verbal consent was obtained using a verbal consent script, which explained to participants that participation was voluntary and that they could withdraw at any time. The research team kept a verbal consent log of participants who verbally agreed to participate in the study.
