Ethics approval and consent to participate
: The original Thinking Healthy Programme was developed by Prof Atif Rahman who is a co-author in the study and works closely with the WHO on research and development globally. We have permission from the World Health Organization (WHO) and Prof Rahman to conduct the translations and adaptations on the original version of the Thinking Healthy Programme. Ethical approval to conduct the study was taken from the ethical review committee of Health Sciences Centre, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Xi’an, China. Informed written consent was obtained from each participant before participation in the programme. The study was conducted in accordance with the ethical principles in the Declaration of Helsinki.
