: The research team obtained authorizations from health authorities. These are in particular the head doctors of health zones of Lubumbashi (Doctor Basile Ngoy) and Kenya (Doctor Franck Monga) with regard to the qualitative part. When collecting quantitative data, we obtained under the delegation of the head doctor of the provincial division of Haut Katanga, Doctor Jean Marie Kafwembe, the agreement of each head doctors of health zones and each head doctors of hospital for all selected hospitals. It is respectively: Doctors Basile Ngoy, André Mwelwa and Assumani N’simbo (For health zone of Lubumbashi, J. Sendwe Hospital and University Clinics); Doctors David Kishiba and Jeangu Tshibangu (For health zone and Kamalondo Hospital called Chrina); Doctors Hugues Kakompe and Ruben Mutalika (For health zone and Kampemba Hospital); Doctors Bijoux Makonko and John Mpanzo (For health zone and Katuba Hospital); Doctors Franck Monga and Denis Kisuka (For health zone and Kenya Hospital); Doctors Anaclet Yumba and Ken Kennedy (For health zone and Kisanga Hospital called La Foi); Doctors Joseph Abwima and Ilunga Twite (For health zone and Mumbunda Hospital called Gécamines Sud); Doctors Gabriel Kyungu and Marie Kapapa (For health zone and Ruashi Hospital called Hakika); Doctors Kipambe Kibwe and Amisi Lubosha (For health zone and HMR Hospital). Health professionals provided written agreement to participate, whereas free and informed consent to participate in the study was obtained verbally from mothers and their accompanying family members. Indeed, during the pre-survey, some less educated women expressed reluctance to provide us with the necessary data, when it came to signing an informed consent in writing. We therefore obtained verbal consent for mothers of newborns and written consent for health professionals. The study obtained the approval of the Medical Ethics Committee of the University of Lubumbashi who validated this approach (CEM-UNILU: UNILU/CEM/132/2019).
