: The study was performed in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki and approved by appropriate ethics committee. Trained field enumerators collected data on behalf of UNICEF and GSS. The MICS team of UNICEF-Ghana, The Ethical Review Board of the Ghana Health Service, and the Ghana Statistical Service approved the study. Before data collection, child assents and adult verbal consents to participate in the survey were obtained from participants. Additionally, participants were assured of anonymity and confidentiality. Informed consent was obtained from all respondents, and assent was obtained for respondents younger than eighteen from parents/guardians/adult household member. Therefore, ethics approval for this study was not required since the data is secondary and is available in the public domain. All methods were performed in accordance with the relevant guidelines and regulations.
