: The Swedish Ethical Review Authority Dr no 2020–03801 has approved the evaluation of the MAC program. The study is performed in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki. The Swedish Ethical Review Authority deemed written consent from the study participants unnecessary due to the study design. This study compare medical safety, patient-, and midwives’ experience before and after an introduction of a new guideline concerning an antenatal care program (MAC program). The pregnant women receive information on the recommended antenatal program from her midwife and give oral consent to the midwife to participate in the MAC program. According to Swedish law, the women always have the possibility to decline any aspect of offered care and they have also the right to change clinic. The individual women’s anonymity will remain intact, since all data is coded and results only published on group level.
