: Ethical approval for this study was obtained from the human research and ethics committee of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH, Lagos (Ref. No: ADM/DCST/HREC/APP/3867). The study was strictly conducted according to international ethical principles, and we confirm that all methods were performed in accordance with the relevant guidelines and regulations of the ethics committee. The data was anonymised and there was no breach of confidentiality and autonomy of the deceased patients. The study was a retrospective study of routinely collected anonymised data and did not require obtaining informed consent from the decedents.
