: This study utilized secondary datasets from 2018, 2013 and 2018 NDHS; with all personally identifiable information removed which guaranteed the confidentiality and anonymity of the participants during data collection and data processing. The protocols and procedures of the surveys were reviewed and approved by the National Health Research Ethics Committee of Nigeria and the ICF Institutional Review Board. Therefore, no further ethical approval was required since this study used existing data which were anonymous and had no identifiable information on the survey participants. The data were downloaded and used upon permission from Measure Demographic Health Surveys (DHS)/ICF International, USA.
: No consent is needed to publish this study since there were no details, images or videos related to individual participants. The data used is freely available in the public domain.
