: The Medical Research Ethics Committee of the Erasmus MC approved the SAFER pregnancy study (NL67428.078.18) and declared that the rules of the Medical Research Involving Human Subjects Act did not apply to the focus group study (MEC-2020–0255). All SAFER participants provided written informed consent. No obligations for written informed consent exist for research outside the Medical Research Involving Human Subjects Act. The General Data Protection Regulation requires the ability to show consent for participation (ExternalRef removed). All focus group participants filled out a survey, which was voluntary. Completion of the survey was therefore considered as consent for participation. Moreover, at the start of the focus group interviews the study was explained to the participants on audio tape. The studies were carried out in accordance with relevant guidelines and regulations.
