: The study protocol was submitted to the Research Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Pretoria, as an amendment of the original Mamelodi study (473/2014). Approval was granted on 1 July 2017. Each study site’s research ethics committee also granted permission for the study and the study was registered on the South African National Research database. All methods were performed in accordance with the relevant ethical and institutional guidelines and regulations. All women undergoing CWDU screening gave written informed consent for participation after receiving verbal and written information on the study and their rights as participants.
