: Ethical approval for human subjects research was obtained from the Health Research Ethics Committee of Stellenbosch University (ref. no. N06/10/210) for the Safe Passage Study. This sub-study protocol was independently reviewed and approved by the Human Research Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Cape Town (HREC UCT REF 247/2023).
