: Ethical clearance No. 2559 was offered by the Research and Ethical Review Committee (CRERC) of Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University College (KCMUCo). Permission to conduct the study was sought from the office of the District Medical Officer (DMO) of Moshi Municipal. Permission letters from DMO were presented to health facility in-charges. Written informed consent was obtained from every participant in the study where by male obtained the written informed consent once they arrived at the facility with their pregnant partners following the invitation before provision of the ANC services. Clients were given numbers and filled in the questionnaires. Those who did not consent to participate in the study received routine ANC services and were not considered as a part of the study.
