: The study protocol followed the principles of the declaration of Helsinki. Ethical approval (Project ID 2020–02521) was obtained from all responsible ethical boards in Switzerland: Kantonale Ethikkommission Bern, Ethikkommission Nordwest- und Zentralschweiz, Commission Cantonale d'éthique de la recherche Genève, Commission cantonale d'Éthique de la Recherche sur l'être humain Vaud, Kantonale Ethikkommission Zürich. Patients with a signed general consent, who had agreed to further use of their data, were included. The written general consent of patients younger than the age of 14 had been obtained from their parents or legal guardians. Judicious adolescents (14–18 years old) were authorized to sign alone according to the Swiss legal regulations and the recommendations of the Working Group General Consent unimedsuisse. However, it was recommended to obtain the signature of the legal representative as well in these age group. In practice, the additional signature was requested for all adolescents < 16 years. For patients without a statement (i.e., no decision on the general consent / no refusal for further use of data) the use of data was exceptionally approved by the responsible ethical boards based on the current legislation in Switzerland (Article 34 Federal Act on Research involving Human Beings), i.e., the need for consent in these patients was waived by the responsible ethics committees.
: Written informed consent for using patient images (Fig. InternalRef removed) was obtained. No other individual and/or potentially identifying patients’ data are shown in this publication.
