: This study was part of a larger research trial that was conducted in Chengdu, Sichuan, China. This study was approved by the Ethics Committee of West China Second University Hospital, Sichuan University, and the ethics approval number is 2020 (144). All methods were performed in accordance with the relevant guidelines and regulations. The date of approval was 21 September 2020.Written informed consent was obtained from the parents of all newborn infants. Considering that the pregnant women going into the labour ward are intrinsically a vulnerable population, we chose only the pregnant women who were admitted to hospitals to wait for delivery with no signs of labour so they could have enough time to consider whether they wished to participate in this study and to provide informed consent.
