: We declare and affirm that we have followed all ethical principles of scholarship through ought this study. Ethical clearance was obtained from Research Ethics Review Committee of department of Nursing College of Health Sciences, Addis Ababa University. A formal letter of cooperation from the University was submitted to each hospitals administrative body for data collection and permission was obtained from all concerned bodies in the hospital. A written informed consent was taken from parents of the neonate and care was taken not to disclose patient’s records and confidentiality was maintained by omitting their name and personal identification from the data collection format. All methods were carried out in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki with respect for individuals, the right to make informed decisions, recognition of vulnerable groups.
