: This study was conducted according to the guidelines laid down in the Declaration of Helsinki [CitationRef removed] and all procedures involving human subjects were approved by Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University Research and Ethics Committee (SMUREC) [SMUREC/H/161/2016: PG]. Furthermore, this study received permission from the Department of Education, Limpopo Province, South Africa. The nature of the study was explained to the mothers of the children prior to their participation. Written informed consent was obtained from mothers and verbal assent from children.
