Ethics approval and consent to participate
: All patients are informed about registration in Riksstroke, that the register may be used for research purposes after ethical approval, and are informed of their rights to decline participation (verbal opt-out consent) and to withdraw their data at any time (this information can be found at ExternalRef removed). The regional Ethical Review Board in Umeå Sweden, approved the study (reference number 2017–184-31). The committee waived the need for additional patient consent for this research study.
