: Hepatitis A is a notifiable disease in France. Anonymous data are transmitted and then entered in a national database at Santé publique France, the French national public health agency. They are used for surveillance purpose and investigation. All cases were free to accept or to refuse to participate to the additional questionnaire investigation including the enhanced surveillance questionnaire and the questionnaire on the evaluation of the control measures. They gave their oral consent to answer the enhanced surveillance questionnaire (given by telephone) and their written consent to answer the questionnaire on the evaluation of the campaign. No personal data were collected in any of the questionnaire. Data processing regarding these additional questionnaires was performed in accordance with disease outbreak investigation authorisation granted by the French data protection authority (Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés, number 341194v42, 16 March 2011) to Santé publique France.
