Ethics approval and consent to participate
: The Institutional Review Board for Duke Kunshan University, China reviewed and approved our study protocol covering data collection in both China and Vietnam (IRB PROTOCOL # 2017TANG005). Vietnam MOH issued a letter of support to approve the research activities in Vietnam. No individual level data were collected. At the beginning of each interview, interviewees were informed about the purpose of this study and their right to voluntarily participate. Interviewees gave their oral informed consent to prevent having trackable information and protect the privacy of all the participants. The research took place in Vietnam and China where written consent is considered disrespectful, and asking people to sign a document may cause distress. Therefore, we used oral consent for interviews. This approach was reviewed and approved by IRB. Transcripts were only available to the key research investigators.
