: The data collection and analysis was part of the routine functions of the Bangladesh Government, hence formal ethics approval was not required. Ethical training was provided to verbal autopsy interviewers prior to data collection.Informed verbal consent was obtained from the relatives of the deceased person, and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare approved this consent procedure for the VA interview in Bangladesh.The data source for the analysis is the Directorate General Health Services, Ministry of Health and Welfare, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Permission was granted by the Director General of Health Services for use of the VA data in this analysis which was conducted by the staff of the Directorate General of Health Services.
