Declarations
:
: All procedures performed in studies involving human participants were in accordance with the ethical standards of the 1964 Helsinki declaration and its later amendments. The data from our study were collected anonymously and identification of the respondents through the authors is impossible. The survey was distributed via SurveyEngine, and we obtained electronic consent to participate from each participant before the study. Spanish law regarding institutional board review (IRB) of research (Ley de Investigación Biomédica, 2007 and Art. 2 (3) Organic Law 3/2018) applies to ‘biomedical research’, thus if the research is not ‘biomedical’, the law does not apply and thus review by an IRB is not required. Biomedical research includes clinical trials with drugs and medical devices, as well as studies using biological identified or identifiable samples, embryonic material, or personal data (our study did not use personal data as it is an anonymous study). It was confirmed by the survey company’s ethical consultant that, therefore, our data, according to the aforementioned Spanish law and according to the GDPR, Art. 4 (1) note 35 (see GDPR Recital 26) do not require formal ethics approval.
