: ERICA was approved by the Research Ethics Committees of the Institute of Studies in Collective Health of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Report 01/2009), in each state of Brazil and the Federal District. All adolescents who agreed to participate provided written informed consent. Adolescents who agreed to participate in the study have signed the consent form; parents or legal guardians provided written informed consents for all participants younger than 18, according to the ethical guidelines described in Resolution No. 466, of December 12, 2012, of the National Health Council, which involve research with human beings. Participants’ identification remained confidential. All procedures performed in studies involving human participants were in accordance with the ethical standards of the institutional research committee and with the 1964 Helsinki declaration and its later amendments or comparable ethical standards.
