: Ethical approval was obtained from Makerere University School of Public Health (MakSPH) Higher Degrees, Research and Ethics Committee (HDREC), study protocol number 660. The study was also approved by the Uganda National Council of Science and Technology (UNCST), protocol number SS 4904. We also obtained authorization and support letters from the Uganda Police Force and the District Health Officers in the study districts. All data were kept confidential. All methods were performed in accordance with the relevant guidelines and regulations by including a statement in the declarations. Written informed consent was obtained from every participant prior to any interview. In situations where the most resourceful person was a minor (< 18 years), a parent or legal guardian signed the informed consent form, and the child signed the assent form. Children under the age of 12 were not interviewed for this study.
