: The Institutional Review Boards of the Kenyatta National Hospital/University of Nairobi and of the University of Konstanz (Germany) approved this study (KNH-ERC/A/192 P144/02/2014). All experiments were performed in accordance with relevant guidelines and regulations (such as the Declaration of Helsinki).Due to the high level of illiteracy among the participants, information on study purpose, procedures and participants’ rights were read to the participants by the local study team members in the participant’s preferred language (Somali, Swahili or English); they were also invited to ask questions before asking for participation.
