: The study utilised secondary datasets from the 2018 Nigeria Demographic and Health Survey. All survey protocols were approved by the National Health Research Ethics Committee of Nigeria (NHREC) and the ICF Institutional Review Board. Additionally, informed consent was obtained from all subjects of the survey and/or the parents/legal guardian(s) of participants under 16 years of age and illiterate participants<b>.</b> Finally, all procedures were followed per applicable guidelines and regulations. For the current study, no further ethical approval was required. The National Health Research Ethics Committee of Nigeria and the ICF Institutional Review Board waived further ethical approval because it used existing data, which they had previously ethically approved, was anonymous, and contained no identifiable information about the survey participants. The datasets were downloaded and used upon permission from MEASURE Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS)/ICF International, USA.
