Ethics approval and consent to participate
: The BANG trial is conducted according to the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki. The trial was approved by the Regional Ethics Review Board in Linköping, Sweden on 14 February 2018 (EPN 2018/45–31). Each clinical site granted trial authorisation prior to recruitment commencing at the site. The trial is prospectively registered at ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT03959215). Participants provide informed consent prior to commencing the trial. Under Swedish law, people aged 15–18 years can provide informed consent to participate in research and parent/guardian consent is not required.Any modifications to the protocol that may impact on the conduct of the study, including changes to trial design, eligibility criteria, sample size, recruitment sites or study procedures will be documented on the ClinicalTrials.gov registration. Any amendments will be discussed and agreed upon by the researchers, and substantive modifications will be reviewed and approved by the Regional Ethics Review Board, as appropriate.
