The research carried out was conducted in compliance with the Declaration of Helsinki. By its approval of the research study, The Institution Review Board at the American University of Beirut Medical Center granted the investigators permission to access patients charts for data collection. Patient consent to participate was waived by the IRB given that this retrospective chart review study posed no greater than minimal risk to subjects. The only potential risk to patients was the inadvertent disclosure of protected health information. To ensure patient confidentiality, patients’ identification data was coded in a separate coding sheet that was available only to the principal investigator as a password-protected soft copy.
